What is A Web Host Server ?

A web host server is basically a very large computer set up specifically to hold data for use on the internet.

When you host your website with a web hosting company, you will store the most recent version of your website on this large computer.

It is stored there by you either through a special software program called an FTP program or when you build your website using the hosting companies own website building software.

Then, whenever someone types in your website address or domain name into their internet connected computer, the web hosting servers at your hosting company will get a message to send (or serve) a copy of your web page to the requesting computer.
